Wolverines Win & Records are Broken

Feb 18, 2024

This wasn’t a win – this was a BLOWOUT.

To say the Wolverines dominated would be an understatement, during the 60 minutes of ice time, the Wolverines managed to put away 10 goals, two hat tricks and break two franchise records.

Arvega Hovsepyan and Romulus Riego de Dios rattled off six goals between the two, making it the first time in Wolverines history that two players received a hat trick during a single game.

Being Hovsepyan’s first time playing in front of the home crowd, we can confidently say it wont be his last.

Danny Bagnole also had a multi-goal night. His first goal opening up the second frame at the two-minute mark and then closing the contest with his second goal with just 11 seconds on the clock.

Bagnole’s final goal pushed the Wolverines to breaking their second record of the night: largest point differential in Wolverines history.

Prior to tonight’s 10-1 win, the Wolverines’ largest point gap was 11-3, occurring during the 2022-2023 season, also against the Kenai River Brown Bears.

The other two goals came from Oliver Salo six minutes into the second period and Tim Kim just three minutes later.

The Brown Bears simply could not stop the Wolverines, despite the Brown Bears pulling their goalie Marks Slavinskis-Repe for Conor Sullivan after Slavinskis-Repe allowed three goals.

Sullivan went on to get four goals against which resulted in the return of Slavinskis-Repe who continued to allow three more.

Liam Beerman was close to having his second shut out of the season, but settled for his second assist instead, grabbing an assist to Hovsepyan’s third goal.
