Wolverines Unveil 2023 Specialty Jerseys

Feb 21, 2023

Anchorage, Alaska | 2/21/23 | Isaac Smoldon

The Anchorage Wolverines participated in their first outdoor scrimmage Monday, which doubled as an unveiling of the two charity jerseys set to be auctioned this season. The two specialty jerseys that will be worn by the team this year will support the Aubri Brown Club and the Fisher House Foundation.

The Aubri Brown Club jerseys will be worn at the next two home games played by Anchorage, March 3rd and 4th against the Fairbanks Ice Dogs. This organization was founded in 2007 by Ami and Curtis Brown, parents of Wolverines Alumni Gage Brown, following the loss of their daughter to SIDS. Their foundation supports families who have lost children by providing them with a robust support system that provides both emotional and financial stability. These jerseys reflect their incredible work helping families heal, featuring the signature Aubri Brown Club butterfly wings around the Wolverines logo.

The Wolverines other specialty jerseys will be worn on the team’s military appreciation weekend, which will be held over the last two home games of the regular season, April 7th and 8th. As any Anchorage resident knows, the history and growth of the largest city in Alaska has been closely tied with the US military presence at what is now Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson. These jerseys honor the history and bond that Anchorage shares with the military and its service members, and shows gratitude for all that they do to defend and serve our country and state.

Both sets of jerseys will be available for bidding the weekends that they are worn through DASH, a digital auction site, and in person at the Ben. Proceeds from the Aubri Brown Club jerseys will benefit their organization, and proceeds from the military appreciation jerseys will go to the Fisher House Foundation, a charity that builds comfort homes where military & veteran families can stay free of charge while a loved one is in the hospital. Fans can access the auctions through the Wolverines’ website or app on the week of the events.
