Wolverines’ Training Camp Underway

Aug 22, 2022

The Anchorage Wolverines are back on the ice in Anchorage for the first time since the
Robertson Cup Playoffs last May. 36 skaters reported for the start of training camp on Monday
with the 2022-2023 team, including a large contingent from last year’s inaugural squad. The
team kicked off the season with a welcome BBQ at the Alaska Rugby grounds on Sunday night
and will practice at the Dempsy Anderson Ice Arena for the week from 9:30-11 a.m., and 3-4:30
p.m.
“We’re excited to get back on the ice this year,” said Keith Morris, the Wolverines’
director of hockey operations. “We believe that our returning players, in conjunction with the
recruiting that we’ve done this offseason has created a tremendous group of guys to move
forward in year two.”
The team has just over three weeks to prepare for the first game of their regular season,
which will take place at the NAHL Showcase in Blaine Minnesota, on September 14th.
Following Showcase, the Wolverines will be on the road until October 21st, when they play their
first home game against the Janesville Jets. The full schedule for the season, ticket information
and updates on the team can all be found on our website, anchoragewolverines.com, as well as
