The Wolverines have capped off their home season with back-to-back wins against the Wisconsin Windigo, going up by two on the five game series.

Tyler Hennen opened the Wolverines scoring spree early in the game, dialing in the first goal of the night within the first minute of the frame.

Will Schumacher of Wisconsin leveled the score in the tenth minute, but Tai Ushio put the Wolverines up again two minutes later. Ushio went back-to-back with goals, with his second goal coming in with just over a minute left in the first period.

Arvega Hovsepyan grabbed the lone goal in the second frame, tallying his second playoff goal and his 11th on the season.

Wisconsin opened the third period with a quick goal, putting one over Liam Beerman just 26 seconds after the puck dropped. Bryce Monrean grabbed his second goal of playoffs 11 seconds later bring the Wolverines to a 5-2 lead.

A questionable call overturned a potential goal for the Wolverines – but the game disruption didn’t faze the Wolverines.

The Windigo attempted to come back, bringing the score to 5-3 in the eighth minute, but it was not enough to compete against the Wolverines.

Cole Christian got on the board with less than one minute on the clock, finalizing the Wolverines second win of the series with a 6-3 score and an empty net goal.

The two teams will travel to Eagle River, Wisconsin to finish the series next weekend.

The Wolverines need a single win to take the series and move on to the Robertson Cup semi-finals, which would take place May 17-19 in Blaine, Minnesota.
