Feb 25, 2023

Anchorage, Alaska | 2/25/23 | Isaac Smoldon

The Anchorage Wolverines fell by a score of 2-0 to the Fairbanks Ice Dogs on Saturday night. Shane Soderwall made 38 saves for Anchorage, but Kayden Hargraves of the Ice Dogs was able to keep the puck out of the back of his net, making 35 saves for the home team.

Fairbanks struck first, scoring with five minutes remaining in the 1st period. The home team would tack on a second goal early in the 2nd, while holding the Wolverines scoreless through the middle frame. Hargraves was no easier to solve in the final period, and despite a strong defensive effort, Anchorage was unable to get on the scoreboard, and lost in regulation, 2-0.

The Wolverines will play their last two games against the Ice Dogs in the regular season at the Ben this upcoming weekend, Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. AKST. The Wolverines will be wearing their first set of specialty jerseys in both games, with the design honoring the Aubri Brown Club. There will be a jersey auction running all weekend that can be accessed through the Wolverines social media or website, with proceeds from the auction going to help families who have lost a child and support them on the road to recovery. Tickets for both games are available now at tickets.anchoragewolverines.com, and the respective broadcasts can be watched exclusively on HockeyTV.
