Wolverines Return Home to Play Janesville

Feb 15, 2023

Anchorage, Alaska | 2/15/23 | Isaac Smoldon

The Anchorage Wolverines are back at home this Friday and Saturday to take on the Janesville Jets, following a weekend split with the Wisconsin Windigo last week. Thanks to the two points, the Wolverines sit just three points out of a playoff position, in an extremely tight Midwest division.

This will be the final time that Anchorage and the Jets see each other this season, with the Wolverines holding a record of 2-3-0 against Janesville this year. With the Jets currently in fourth place, and Anchorage just three points back, two regulation wins would propel the Wolverines past Janesville and potentially into a playoff spot. Both teams have played each other tight all year, with Anchorage winning the two teams’ first contest against one another this season in dramatic fashion, scoring four unanswered goals in the 3rd period to win in a shootout.

As the Wolverines look to keep pace with the rest of the Midwest, the Jets will try to hang on to their playoff spot in what is turning into the most competitive division in junior hockey. Both Friday and Saturday’s games start at 7 p.m. AKST, with tickets available now at tickets.anchoragewolverines.com. For those not able to watch the games in person, the live broadcast for both games can be watched exclusively on HockeyTV.
