Wolverines Look for Bounce Back Weekend Against Janesville

Anchorage, Alaska |10/17/23 | Isaac Smoldon

After a disappointing loss to the Minnesota Wilderness last week, the Anchorage Wolverines will take on the Janesville Jets at the Ben Boeke Ice Arena this Friday and Saturday. This is Anchorage’s second weekend against the Jets this season, with Janesville sweeping the Wolverines the first time the two teams faced off against one another.

Anchorage has a 0-1-1 record against the Jets this season, but is just two points behind Janesville in the Midwest division standings with three fewer games played. Both teams lost last weekend, with the Jets being swept by the Chippewa Steel during a home-and-home series. Plenty of eyes will be on Janesville’s Haden Kruse, who is third in the NAHL in scoring thanks to six goals and 13 assists tallied in the Jets’ 13 games played. Anchorage’s top six, led by Fyodor Nikolayenya, will be looking for a strong weekend after the team was held to just one goal by the Wilderness.

Both games begin at 7 p.m. AKDT, and with both previous home games being sellouts, fans are encouraged to buy tickets now at tickets.anchoragewolverines.com. For those not able to watch the games in-person, both will be available live and on-demand exclusively on nahltv.com.
