May 1, 2023

After two seasons with the Anchorage Wolverines, including a playoff run to the Robertson Cup Championship Game, head coach Evan Trupp is moving up to the USHL. Trupp has accepted the position of Associate Coach with the Muskegon Lumberjacks. He will join the team immediately to prepare for the upcoming USHL draft.

“We are extremely excited for Evan and this opportunity to advance his coaching career,” said director of hockey operations Keith Morris. “I have had the chance to watch Evan’s career as a player and now as a coach, and I am proud to have been associated with him and wish him the best of luck.”

“I’m excited to further my career as a coach and continue to surround myself with different hockey minds as I try to grow my career,” stated Coach Trupp. “I am forever blessed and thank the Anchorage Wolverines for bringing me in and helping me transition into the coaching side of things after my playing career ended. The Wolverines organization is top-notch and they have the best fans in the NAHL. Although I am excited for my new opportunity in the USHL with the Muskegon Lumberjacks, the future is bright for hockey in Alaska and for the Anchorage Wolverines.”

Anchorage had a record of 28-24-8 with Trupp as head coach, and an overall record of 57-40-15 during his time with the organization. The Wolverines wish coach Trupp the best of luck moving forward, especially in his upcoming season with the Lumberjacks.
