Anchorage, Alaska |3/10/23 | Isaac Smoldon

Despite a valiant effort in the 3rd period, the Anchorage Wolverines were unable to comeback against the Minnesota Wilderness on Friday, losing by a score of 4-2 at home. Shane Soderwall was in net for Anchorage and made 26 saves over the course of the game.

It was a slow start for the Wolverines, with the score sitting at 1-0 after the opening period in favor of the visitors. Things went from bad to worse when Minnesota tacked on three more goals in the 2nd, taking a four-goal lead into the final period. Anchorage would attempt to mount a comeback, with Layten Liffrig getting the goose egg off the scoreboard for the Wolverines, followed by Aiden Westin cutting the lead to two with three minutes left in the 3rd. It would be too little too late for the home team however, and Anchorage lost by a final score of 4-2.

With the loss, the Wolverines record against the Wilderness falls to 0-3-2 this year. The Wolverines will play the Minnesota Wilderness for the final time this regular season tomorrow night at 7 p.m. AKST.
