The Anchorage Wolverines lost 3-0 to the New Jersey Titans Tuesday night in the Robertson Cup National Championship game. Titans’ goaltender Andrew Tackas made 31 saves in the shutout for his team, and the New Jersey top line had one goal each in the win.

Both teams were scoreless after the 1st period, with the Titans outshooting the Wolverines 16-8 in the frame. In the 2nd however, New Jersey would open the scoring, with Brendan Dumas and Nick Ring scoring two quick goals in the middle of the period to go up 2-0. The Titans would hold that lead through the end of the middle frame, and Anchorage faced a two-goal deficit going into the 3rd.

The Wolverines would try to mount a comeback in the final period, but a mid-period goal from Anthony Calafiore made the game 3-0. New Jersey would hold that lead all the way through the remainder of regulation and they secured the East Division’s first ever Robertson Cup.

Despite Anchorage’s historic first season just ending, the team has already begun looking forward to the future. There is a pre-draft camp being held in Anchorage the first week of June, with the Wolverines’ main camp and training camp to follow later in the summer. Be sure to pay attention to the Wolverines website and social media for updates on camps and tickets for the 2022-2023 season.
