Wolverines Fall in Game Two of Series

The Anchorage Wolverines lost to the Minnesota Wilderness in game two of the Midwest division finals by a score of 7-2. Both teams have won a game in their series against each other thus far, with the series tied at one game apiece. Game three will take place tomorrow back at the Ben at 5PM AKST.

Minnesota broke the ice in the contest, scoring late in the first to go up 1-0. The Wilderness would never relinquish their lead, scoring three goals in each of the remaining frames to tally seven total in the contest. Ethan Wolthers and Bryce Howard were standouts for Minnesota, with Wolthers recording three points and Howard scoring twice for the away team. Talon Sigurdson had both of Anchorage’s points, and now has three goals in the playoffs. Matt Smith had 20 saves in the win.

Game three takes place back at the Ben, at 5 PM AKST. Tickets are available on anchorgaewolverines.com. This will be the final time that the Wolverines play at home this season, with the series shifting back to Minnesota for game four next Friday.
