Wilderness pull away in high-scoring game two

ANCHORAGE, AK — After Michael Kotora gave the Anchorage Wolverines an early lead, Minnesota battled back to take control in a back-and-forth contest that saw the Wilderness ultimately secure a 9-5 victory.

The Wilderness ended the first period with a 2-1 advantage before extending their lead to 3-1 early in the second. Aiden Lawson and John Scott responded for the Wolverines, tying the game within five minutes of Minnesota’s third goal.

The Wilderness answered with two more goals, but Caleb Mahar and Landon Greenough once again brought the Wolverines even. Minnesota found the back of the net twice more before the end of the period, sending the teams into the locker room with the Wilderness leading 7-5.

The Wolverines struggled to regain momentum in the third period, recording just eight shots on goal. Minnesota added two more goals to close out the game with a 9-5 final score.

The Wolverines and Wilderness will wrap up the three-game series tomorrow at the Sullivan Arena. Doors open at 2:45pm ahead of the 4:00pm puck drop. Tickets are available now at tickets.anchoragewolverines.com.
