The Wolverines pulled off yet another win, this time in overtime.

Right off the bat, Ryan Hipsag of Kenai River unwarrantedly took down Lukas Bellinger, Cole Frawner quickly got in the action resulting in his ejection. Hipsag and Bellinger both served 15-minutes in the box for the tussle.

Like last night, the Brown Bears took the early lead with Andy Larson finding the net in the 10th minute.

Brock Devlin leveled the score six minutes later with assists coming from Danny Bagnole and Jack Darby.

Roope Tuomioksa pushed Kenai River ahead with the lone second period goal. The Wolverines had 17 shots on throughout the period but was unable to find the back of the net.

Danny Bagnole was a playmaker tonight, finding Kade Shea with only four minutes left in the contest to grab the equalizer and putting the Wolverines back in the game.

Vaughn Makar held strong in the net for the Wolverines holding off 20 of 22 shots. Throughout the final period, Kenai only managed one shot on goal compared to the 15 Anchorage racked up.

Regulation ended with a tie forcing the teams into a five minute overtime period.

Camden Shasby and Cole Christian had a breakaway opportunity two minutes into overtime, with Shasby skating it through Kenai’s defensive end, then finding Christian for the back door game-winning-goal.

Tonight’s win pushes the Anchorage Wolverines to a six game winning streak and adds another two points toward the Club 49 Point Tracker. While Kenai gained a single point for forcing the game into overtime, they still live far behind the Wolverines with a mere eight points.

The Wolverines will head south for the next two weekends, playing the Wisconsin Windigo and the Chippewa Steal. Competition will be hot throughout the next contests, with the Windigo sitting in first in the Midwest and the Steel just below the Wolverines in fifth place.
