After three vigorous periods, Minnesota is leaving The Ben with a redemption win.
Minnesota dominated the first period, putting three goals in the back of the net before the contest finished. Daniel Astopovich started the goal spree in the seventh minute of the first, securing his first NAHL goal. Followed by Nash Jacobson in the 15th minute, with his first NAHL goal as well.
The Wolverines held off the Wilderness throughout the 2nd, leaving the ice with a scoreless period.
Bryce Monrean of Anchorage made the start of the last period intense with a roughing call, followed by an unsportsmanslike 10-minute penalty.
Danny Reis sniped Anchorage’s first goal in the ninth minute of the 3rd, assisted by Oliver Salo and Tai Ushio.
Lefty Ashton Dahms blasted Minnesota’s final goal four minutes later.
Netminding for the Wolverines was Liam Beerman, saving 14 of 17 shots on. In net for the Wilderness was former Wolverine Ben Dardis.
Wolverine Nation was LOUD tonight! The score may have reflected a win for the Wilderness, but a packed house full of Wolverines fans is always a win in our book.
We’ll see you all again next weekend as the Anchorage Wolverines take on the Janesville Jets in a double header on October 20th and 21st.
