Schmitz Seals Game with 3rd Period Goal

The Anchorage Wolverines took game one of their best-of-five series against the Springfield Jr. Blues on Thursday, winning by a final score of 2-1. After giving up a goal late in the first, Talon Sigurdson tied the game for Anchorage early in the 2nd, capitalizing on a 2-1 opportunity. Hunter Schmitz had the game winner, scoring with just three minutes remaining in the game, off of a beautiful pass from Jackson Reineke. Raythan Robbins was excellent in game one, making 34 saves on 35 shots, and the Wolverines now lead the Jr. Blues 1-0 in the series.

Game two takes place Friday, at 4:05 AKST. Anchorage will also play game three of the series in Springfield on Sunday at the same time, before returning to the Ben if game four is needed.
