FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

2006-born North Dakota native Ryder McDonald has committed to continue his hockey career at the NCAA Division III level with Augsburg University.

“We’re excited for Ryder and his family on his commitment to Augsburg,” Anchorage Wolverines Head Coach Mike Aikens said.

Located in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Augsburg University competes in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC).

“I’m super excited to be able to play at an unbelievable spot like Augsburg next year,” McDonald said. “I’ve had a great connection with the coaching staff there and loved everything about campus. I’m thrilled to continue my playing career there next year.”

McDonald has appeared in 14 games with the Wolverines this season. Before joining Anchorage, he spent time in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL), where he recorded 33 points in 50 games with the Yorkton Terriers.

“Earning the opportunity to play college hockey is a big accomplishment, and he should be proud,” Aikens said. “We look forward to watching him take the next step and contribute to the Auggies.”

McDonald plans to finish the 2026-27 season with the Wolverines before reporting to Augsburg for the 2027-28 season.
