Nikolayenya Earns Midwest Division Star of the Week

Anchorage Wolverines forward Fedya Nikolayenya, 19, had a big weekend to help the Wolverines pick up three of four points in their weekend home series against Kenai River. The 5’11/180 lbs. native over Minsk, Belarus, had five points in the two games. On Friday, he had two goals and an assist in a 5-4 overtime loss. On Saturday, Nikolayenya had a goal and an assist in a 11-3 win. For the season, Nikolayenya had 16 points in 18 games played to date with the Wolverines. “Fedya is a dynamic player with incredible vision. He plays hard for his teammates and it’s great to see him getting rewarded individually for his team-first mentality that he brings every day,” said Wolverines head coach Evan Trupp.
