The Anchorage Wolverines walked away with a hard-fought point Friday night, but ultimately fell to the Janesville Jets in a six round shootout, helping Janesville to their fourth win in a row.

After a scoreless first period, Bryce Monrean broke the 0-0 tie with his 100th NAHL point, receiving the puck from Oliver Salo.

Christian Venticinque opened the final contest with an early goal for the Jets, drilling it only 1:19 seconds into the period.

Jet’s Ryan Williams followed with another goal not long after, taking the lead for the Jets in the eighth minute of the second.

With only five minutes left in the game, Salo secured his second point of the night forcing the game into overtime.

Only two penalties were called in the second, after a penalty free first period. Cole Frawner of Anchorage and Grady Gallatin of Janesville both received 15 minutes in the box for fighting.

Anchorage went penalty free the rest of the game, while Janesville visited the box two more times.

Overtime went scoreless, with Liam Beerman net minding for Anchorage, Beerman saved 33/35 shots throughout the game and 5/6 in the shootout.

After a six round sudden death shootout with only one goal scored for Janesville, Venticinque sunk the puck for the game winning goal.

Regardless of the final score, Wolverines Nation enjoyed watching on Matanuska Brewing’s 225″ screen. Full regulation, OT and a shootout makes for a great watch party! We’ll be here again TOMORROW for another 4:05pm puck drop.
