CLOQUET, MN — The Anchorage Wolverines were unable to collect all four points available this weekend, falling 6-2 to the Minnesota Wilderness on Saturday night to split the series.

Anchorage came out strong, jumping to a 2-0 lead early. Chase Trompeter opened the scoring less than six minutes after puck drop, giving the Wolverines early momentum.

Midway through the second period, leading scorer Luc Bydal netted his second goal of the weekend, and 30th of the season, to extend the lead to 2-0.

The tide turned late in the second frame, as the Wilderness responded with four goals in the final five minutes to take a 4-2 advantage into the locker room.

Minnesota added two more in the third period to seal the 6-2 final and secure the weekend split.

The Wolverines stay on the road for a busy three-game stretch next weekend, playing the Janesville Jets on Friday, the Wisconsin Windigo on Saturday, and the Chippewa Steel on Sunday.
