Oct 2, 2021

After a tough 4-3 loss Thursday, the Anchorage Wolverines bounced back with a 5-2 victory Friday night at the Chippewa Area Ice Arena.

It was a quick start for the Wolverines, when the defenseman Clay Allen nailed a slapshot from the blue line, putting Anchorage up 1-0 under one minute into the game. Not long after, Wolverines’ Tyler Braccini would register his first goal of the season for a 2-0 Wolverines advantage in the first 5 minutes of play.

That score would carry into the 2nd period, but not long as Aiden Westin slipped one in 26 second into the frame to put Anchorage up 3-0.The Wolverines scoring was steady into the 3rd, as Collin Pederson knocked in Anchorage’s 4th straight goal.

While the Steel was able to shorten the gap, it wasn’t enough to catch the Wolverines as Anchorage took the win 5-2. Anchorage’s Hunter Bischoff was the final Wolverines player to strike Friday night.

In net, Raythan Robbins stopped 26 of 28 shots faced.
