CHIPPEWA FALLS, WI — The Anchorage Wolverines capped off the weekend the right way, skating out of Wisconsin with a 5-2 win over the Chippewa Steel.

Anchorage wasted no time setting the tone. Just one minute into the contest, leading scorer Luc Bydal lit the lamp to give the Wolverines an early edge.

Newcomer Oliver Morris made an immediate impact in his NAHL debut weekend. Recently acquired from the P.A.L. Jr. Islanders (NCDC), where he tallied 32 points in 36 games, Morris buried his first NAHL goal just two minutes after Bydal’s opener to double the lead.

Chippewa responded on the man advantage to cut the deficit in half, but the Wolverines answered before the first intermission. Chase Trompeter restored the two-goal cushion, swinging momentum firmly back in Anchorage’s favor.

Midway through the second period, Luc struck again, this time finishing a feed from his brother, Rylan Bydal, to extend the lead to 4–1. Chippewa managed one more power-play goal, but that would be all they could muster.

Bowen Burke sealed the night with Anchorage’s fifth goal, while Rylan picked up his second assist of the game to cap off a strong performance.

The Wolverines now turn their attention to a home-and-home rematch, and finally, a return to familiar ice. Anchorage hosts the Steel this Friday and Saturday at Sullivan Arena.
