After an exciting three periods of Alaskan hockey, the Anchorage Wolverines are leaving the Soldotna Regional Sports Complex with another win under their belt.

The Kenai River Brown Bears took the early lead, with the lone first period goal coming in at the 12th minute of the game on a Brown Bear power play from the Augustana University commit, Roope Tuomioksa.

Beerman saw 16 more shots throughout the first frame and managed to hold the Brown Bears to the single goal.

Artem Shchipanov has already made his mark on the Wolverines. Tonight was Shchipanov’s second appearance for the Wolverines and he secured two points. He grabbed his first NAHL goal with 8:56 left in the second with assists coming from Tyler Hennen and Romolus Riego de Dios.

Shchipanov later found Riego de Dios for the game winning goal and Reigo de Dios’ fourth goal since joining the Wolverines.

Shchipanov and Riego de Dios are the newest additions to the Anchorage Wolverines’ roster and have since proved to be valued members to the team’s success.

Four players were ejected in two different dances throughout the night.

Cole Frawner and Ryan Hipsag were the first to drop gloves with only 10 seconds left in the second period, having to be pulled apart as Frawner lost sight with his jersey being pulled over his head.

Kade Shea took Owen Hanson of the Brown Bears down with just six minutes left in the contest for the second fight of the night.

The Anchorage Wolverines return to home ice TOMORROW to face off against the Kenai River Brown Bears for the final game in the series. Puck drops at 7:00pm at The Ben… get ready to RAGE!
