Anchorage Wolverines Welcome Sam Graham to Coaching Staff

Jul 27, 2023

Sam Graham will be joining the Anchorage Wolverines as an assistant coach for the 2023-24 season.

“I’d like to thank Keith Morris and the Wolverines organization for giving me this opportunity,” Graham said. “I’m humbled and grateful to be assisting Nick Walters and excited to work with such incredible talent. Can’t wait to get started with this group!”

Graham played for the Weyburn Redwings, where he averaged one point per game. He finished his playing career at the University of Wisconsin Stevens-Point, a Division III school where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration – Finance and a Certificate in Accounting from UCLA Extension.

Graham’s coaching experience includes six seasons with the LA Jr. Kings. Graham led the team to three consecutive state championships and third place at nationals. In addition, he is also the head coach for Western Select’s Brick program, which runs spring to summer and plays in the Edmonton Brick Invitational Tournament.

“I am excited about adding Sam to our coaching staff this season. After several conversations, his passion for coaching and the game of hockey was apparent,” Head Coach Nick Walters said. “I think his skill set with video, analytics and attention to detail are going to be an asset for the players, staff and Wolverines organization. I can’t wait for him to make the move to Alaska and get the season rolling.”
