The Anchorage Wolverines Referee Appreciation night is set for this evening at the Ben Boeke Ice Arena, with a charity jersey auction taking place at intermission.
Due to unforeseen, or rather overlooked circumstances, tonight’s jerseys will not be game-worn.
In a move the league called “ill-advised” and “how did these even make it past the mock-up phase”, these cutting-edge and controversial jerseys are sure to be a hot ticket item for referee enthusiasts and those seeking ref-themed memorabilia.
Proceeds from the jersey auction will benefit Refs Without Borders, a 501(c)3 nonprofit that teaches those who can’t play, to referee.
