Anchorage, Alaska | 2/29/23 | Isaac Smoldon

The Anchorage Wolverines return home to the Ben this weekend, to kick off a 12-game home stand through the month of March and into April. The Wolverines are coming off a tough weekend against Fairbanks, but have a chance for revenge against the Ice Dogs in what will be the two teams’ final games against each other this regular season.

Following Fairbanks’s sweep of Anchorage last week, the Wolverines have a record of 5-3-2 against the Ice Dogs this season. They also sit on top of the Club 49 Cup race, with 24 points to Fairbanks’s 20 against Alaskan NAHL teams. The Ice Dogs currently are second in the Midwest division, while Anchorage is in sixth, four points back of a playoff spot.

This weekend the Wolverines will also be wearing their first set of specialty jerseys, with the design honoring the Aubri Brown Club. There will be a jersey auction running all weekend that can be accessed through the Wolverines social media or website, with proceeds from the auction going to help families who have lost a child and support them on the road to recovery.

The exciting second chapter in the Wolverines/Fairbanks rivalry comes to a climax this Friday and Saturday at the Ben, with both games beginning at 7 p.m. AKST. Tickets can be bought now at tickets.anchoragewolverines.com, or the live broadcast for both contests can be found exclusively on HockeyTV.
