The Anchorage Wolverines beat the Wisconsin Windigo 5-3 on Saturday night, picking up two points in the Midwest division standing in the process. Ben Dardis made 29 saves on the 32 shots that he faced in his first start at the Ben, backstopping the Wolverines first win of the weekend. Anchorage and Wisconsin will play once more this weekend, Sunday at 4 p.m. AKDT.

Just like Friday, the Wolverines scored the first goal of the game, with Danny Reis striking late into the opening frame to give Anchorage a one-goal lead heading into the 2nd. Unlike Friday, the Wolverines continued to build on their lead in the middle frame, with Jackson Reineke, Aiden Westin and Wilson Dahlheimer all scoring in the 2nd period. Wisconsin scored two goals of their own to keep pace, but ultimately, they wouldn’t be able to close the gap in the 3rd. The Windigo scored late, but Aiden Westin tapped in his fourth of the weekend to secure the win for his team, by a final score of 5-3.

Both teams play their last game of the weekend on Sunday at 4 p.m. Fans in costume will receive free admission to the game while availability lasts. The game will also be available to watch exclusively on HockeyTV.
