The Anchorage Wolverines stunned Kenai River on Friday night, scoring two goals with under a minute to play in regulation to win by a final score of 3-2. Both goals came from Aiden Westin, who scored the game-winning goal with just 21 seconds remaining in the 3rd.

Both teams traded goals in the opening frame, with Kory Diponio starting the scoring just 3:05 into the 1st, before Kenai River was able to respond to tie the game four minutes later. The Brown Bears then took the lead in the 2nd period, off a bad bounce from behind the Anchorage net.  The score remained 2-1 all the way up to the final minute of the game, when Westin tapped in a rebound on the backdoor to tie the game at two. Then 33 seconds later, Westin burned past the Kenai River defense to give the Wolverines the lead with just 21.1 seconds remaining in regulation. Anchorage held on to win in regulation, by a final score of 3-2.

With the win, Anchorage secures two points in both the Club 49 Cup and the Midwest division standings. The Wolverines currently lead the Club 49 Cup with 12 points.
