The Anchorage Wolverines are advancing to the Robertson Cup semi-finals for the second time in three seasons after completing a clean sweep against the Wisconsin Windigo. The Wolverines continue to show dominance through the Midwest Division, capping off the Midwest Division Championship with three straight wins, 12 total goals and a shutout. Cole Frawner, an Anchorage local, had a big night on the ice with his first playoff goal and his second of the season – putting the Wolverines up early with a one-point lead. The Windigo never saw a chance tonight, despite seeing equal shots on net through the first and third frames. Anchorage made their move in the second period, with both Arvega Hovsepyan and Cole Christian finding the back. Anchorage managed 14 shots on goal compared to Wisconsin’s mere nine. Liam Beerman was a brick house between the pipes tonight, with the NAHL reporting 24 shots against, it’s safe to say Beerman was looking for his second playoff shutout. The team now prepares for the semi-finals, which will take place in Blaine, Minnesota next weekend, opponents still to be determined. Let’s Rage!!! |
