Wolverines Fall in Shootout, Hold onto Fourth Place

Apr 6, 2022

Anchorage, Alaska | 4/2/22 | Isaac Smoldon

Despite losing two out of the three games played this weekend, the Anchorage Wolverines picked up four out of six possible points in the Midwest division standings. Anchorage was down late in the 3rd period Saturday, but scored two goals in the final two minutes with the net empty to tie the game at 3-3. Much like Saturday, overtime yielded no results, and so the game was decided in a shootout. Chippewa scored on three consecutive attempts to win the game, by a listed score of 4-3.

There are now just five games remaining in the regular season for Anchorage. The Wolverines travel to Fairbanks this upcoming weekend to play the Ice Dogs for the final time this season, with both the Club 49 Cup and a playoff spot on the line. The last games of the regular season will take place back at the Ben on April, 14th, 15th, and 16th, against the Minnesota Magicians.

Puck drop for the final home series is at 7PM AKST, with tickets available at the door 30 minutes before the game. There is still one day remaining in the online jersey auction, with every jersey worn this weekend up for sale. Tickets for the final home series and the jersey auction can be accessed via our website, anchoragewolverines.com.
