Anchorage Wolverines forward Jackson Reinke has announced his commitment to play for Division I college hockey for Robert Morris University in the 2023-24 season. “I chose RMU because they have a great coaching staff and are in a unique spot where they have a history of success and built a well-respected program,” said Reineke. “That said, they’re in a spot where they need to rebuild a team from the ground up for next year, and I am very excited to be a part of that. It reminded me a lot of what we did with Anchorage last year.”

Reineke has been with the Wolverines for both years of their existence, scoring nine goals and 24 assists for 33 points in 55 games during the 2021-22 regular season. He added four more goals during the Robertson Cup playoff run, one of which was the overtime game winner that propelled Anchorage past St. Cloud in game one of the semi-finals round. This season Reineke has shifted his play into the next gear, and he’s been a point-a-game player for the Wolverines. With 22 goals and 47 points for the team this year in 41 games, Reineke leads Anchorage in scoring and is currently sixth in the NAHL for points.

“I’m excited for Rhino on his commitment to Robert Morris,” Head Coach Evan Trupp stated. “He has worked extremely hard to earn a Division 1 scholarship and it is very much deserved.” Reineke will finish the 2022-23 season with Anchorage, who continues their season this weekend with two games against the Janesville Jets.
