Anchorage Defeated in Sunday Night Showdown

Oct 30, 2022

Anchorage, Alaska | 10/30/22 | Isaac Smoldon

The Anchorage Wolverines lost by a score of 7-2 to the Wisconsin Windigo in the final game of a three-game series. Anchorage secured just two points out of the six available to them in the Midwest division standings.

The Wolverines’ two goals both came in the first period, with David Tolan and Kyle Bauer scoring two unanswered for Anchorage in response to an early goal from the Windigo. Bauer’s goal would be the last that the Wolverines would score in the contest however, as Wisconsin went on to score six unanswered goals of their own over the remainder of the game, and they won by a score of 7-2.

Anchorage now prepares for another three-game home weekend this upcoming Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Friday and Saturday’s games will be against the Wolverines’ cross-state rivals the Fairbanks Ice Dogs and will start at 7 p.m. AKDT, while Sunday’s game will be played against the Minnesota Wilderness at 4 p.m. AKDT. Tickets for all three contests are available now at anchoragewolverines.com, or every match-up can be watched live or on-demand on HockeyTV.
